Our People

If you’ve had the chance to visit us, you know people are what make Greendance great. As a small group of diverse professionals from all backgrounds – we work hard and enjoy every hour getting it all done. We make stuff from dirt, get creative, and have fun. Every grape harvested, every bottle corked, every smile represents our growing business and passion in every glass poured. Seasonal work is often available, drop us a note and join our team!

Robert Blosser – Assistant Winemaker

After 20 plus years working in the editing department for a  Mennonite publishing company, Robert was ready for a change. “My wife worked with Rick at the hospital and knew the winery was opening, so they talked and I came to the farm ‘just to help out’ while I was searching for a new job – knowing nothing about making wine. That was back in 2009. Here I discovered a passion for wine and wanted to learn all I could about the transformation from the grape to the glass.”

Josh Bair – Marketing & Farm Manager

Josh’s career started at the ripe age of 14 working in the sorting room for the farm – the choice was to go to summer camp (against his will) or find something productive to do. He chose the latter. Fast forward a few vintages, as farm manager for Sand Hill Berries he can now be found anywhere from baking pies, to chasing after escaped sheep, digging in the dirt with Susan and Rick, or drafting wine labels – with occasional marketing work in-between.

Linda Macaluso – Tasting Room

A dedicated and passionate 6th grade science teacher, Linda retired from the classroom after 34 years in education – now a familiar face at Greendance since our opening in 2007. “Working here is an ever changing experience, each season brings different wines, more learning, and new friends – to capture it all in the words of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe: ‘we must always change, renew, rejuvenate ourselves; otherwise we harden.’

Barb White – Tasting Room

Happily retired after 35 years in elementary education, Barb can now admit to having spent equal time enjoying wine and pizza at Bud Murphy’s in her home town. “When I first started, I knew little about wine but have gained so much knowledge from my years at Greendance. It’s my job to get the right wine in the glass – I love seeing the happiness in our customers faces when they experience that first sip of a new wine.”

Cindy Workman – Retail & Tasting Room

For almost four decades, Cindy worked in the healthcare field. Now you will find her organizing our retail shops and scheduling the tasting room. “Amy found me at Seven Springs Mountain club – I didn’t know a thing about wine, but she still told me to ‘just show up and we’ll talk.’ At the winery I walked into an interview and didn’t even know it. When asked about my past work I told everyone ‘I’ve been working 38 years without a resume and I’m not making one now.’ Everyone laughed and I was hired.”

Jay Brown – Senior Accountant

Our longest employee, Jay has been helping on the farm long before the winery opened its’ doors. Jay’s grandparents, Ernest & Verda Brown, were the previous owners of the old farm that has become Sand Hill Berries & Greendance. Most days you will find Jay balancing accounts and surrounded by mountains of paperwork in his office, but summer evenings are often spent helping with tractor work in the fields – “Semi-retirement has never been full of so much work.”
