Zinfandel 2012

A complex red that will improve over the next two to three years. Zinfandel came to the United States in 1829 thanks to New York nurseyman George Gibbs. Gibbs brought back various cuttings from the Imperial Austian plant collection, however research has shown that Zinfandel is more specifically a clone of a Croatian variety. It was not until 1852 that a Massachusetts man, Frederick Macondray introduced the grape to California.

Zinfandel is synonymous with California where it has thrived, and arguably remains one of most prolific grape varieties there today.

Nose offers vanilla with a hint of spice and french oak.
